Reaching this milestone is a testament to my hard work, and it is a real confidence boost. Not as big a boost as my third COVID shot perhaps, but a boost nevertheless. I love what I do. I am proud of the assistance I have provided to so many people, and I am grateful for all of the support I have received from Bobby and Candy Gocool and Kim Mustapha. My family has never stopped believing in me.

I have heard it said that we are in the business of selling products. Well, with all due respect to the product sellers out there, I have a slightly different perspective. I have found that many people lack financial literacy. They don’t know how to claw their way out of debt, they do not understand investing, and they seldom think about how to retire with security and dignity. I have learned that if I can educate people, really help them understand their current financial situation, then the need for our products becomes clear. People need to develop the capacity to make informed decisions about their financial resources. My job is to get them there.

The human connection is integral to our business. People need to develop trust in us, and we need to show them that we genuinely care about their future and the future of their families. Whether someone has $25 to invest, or $250,000, a client is a client. They are all entitled to my time and attention. Now don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate people with money. But the point is, everyone needs financial goals and a path to improvement.

In this time of social isolation and fear, we are all in a position to spread hope for the future. So, let’s leave the hard-sell tactics to the vacuum cleaner people. Get out there and inject confidence and hope for the future into our prospective clients. Inoculate them against bad decisions, encourage them to wash their hands of debt, and protect them from bad advice and financial insecurity.

I am proud of my accomplishment. My journey here hasn’t been easy. But if I can do it, so can you! $100,000, here I come!

Pandemically Yours,

Sanaa Elkhattabi
