Our Journey to $300K and Ownership

Thank you, Bobby and Candy for giving us the opportunity to tell our story! We are beyond humbled to have achieved our 3rd Diamond and Ownership. It also gives us immense pride and honour to be recognized as the first Tamil, Sri Lankan family to have achieved this level in Primerica. Uprooting your family, making an unknown country your home and becoming a trail blazer to those in your community is a story that we only see in the movies. But going through the journey and building your destiny with your family is something that everyone should experience and achieve.

Our journey begins in the late 90s where as some may say…I was “rescued” from the bank and it is true! We cannot imagine what life would have been like had I chosen comfort over passion and stayed at the bank. At a time of vulnerability and where most would seek security, I opted to take the leap of faith and quit my job at the bank to build a legacy at Primerica.

Things weren’t always smooth sailing for us. First and foremost, quitting the bank set off alarms within my family who then informed Gowre who was in Sri Lanka with our daughters awaiting the day they arrive in Canada. Gowre, obviously was sent into panic mode as she was unaware why I would make such a decision and how we’d be supported in an unknown country. Once Gowre and the girls arrived, we began envisioning our life in this business and raising our children in this environment. We faced adversity not just from friends but our family as well. But this did not deter us. Adversity and setbacks only fueled us to achieve greatness and grow.

Our strength in this business is our partnership. We have an equal impact and therefore, we wear many hats in this business and ensue that we support each other in every way possible. While I spend most of my time at the kitchen table with clients, Gowre takes the lead at the office. We ensure that there is a system in place for this business to function like a well-oiled machine.

We also take great pride in making this a family business. Our daughters and son-in-law are fully licensed and play an integral role behind the scenes. From tech support to communications, we have a powerhouse!

Primerica trips are major motivators in our business. Winning trips sets us up to achieve greatness as they keep us excited, motivated and most importantly on track! These trips are designed to stretch your vision. Once you’ve been on one, there’s no going back. Our daughters now want to travel everywhere Primerica style!

Although our achievement thus far has been driven by our vision and motivation, without a strong and convincing crusade and mission, this would not have been possible. Our mission to help families earn more income, become properly protected, debt free and financially independent speaks volumes and ignites a fire within us as we are a product of this mission. When you practice what you preach and are a living example of how Primerica has positively impacted you and your family, it allows your clients to make confident decisions for their families.

Lastly, a huge thank you to our team and the Legacy Builders family for their unconditional support, motivation and competition. Their competitive spirit drives us and allows us to step out of our comfort zone to achieve greatness!
